Easy DIY SPOD for your Jeep
Need a bank of switches to run all your lights and accessories? You looked around on the internet and found lots of cool options but one major catch …. they are CRAZY expensive!!!
Stress not my off-roading friend! Just make your own. It isn’t difficult at all. Just take your time and follow the wiring schematics that are typically provided with the switches you purchase.
There are lots of really cool switches on the market but they all pretty much have one thing in common. They are only rated for 20 amps or less current draw. With that being the case you really should tie your switch pod to a relay pack or otherwise known as a Power Distribution Center or PDC.
Another great feature that you can look for as you are buying switches is whether or not the switch has backlighting. I really recommend getting switches that have backlighting because it makes it so much easier to see which switch you need and is it on or off when out at night. Not to mention they just look freaking cool!!!
